So, we’re off (again). This time we’re going to be exploring Southern Germany, starting with an Oktoberfest weekend.
We’re heading off tomorrow (Friday) on an early morning flight to Stuttgart and then picking up a car to drive to Munich. (The flights to Munich were far too expensive by the time we booked.)
For the first few days we’re on an organised tour so we’ll be going to the Oktoberfest with a group. Before that, on Saturday, we are having a morning tour of Munich with the rest of the day free to explore.
On Sunday we’re going to the Oktoberfest for the first Sunday of the festival which, despite being called Oktoberfest, starts in September! We’re going to be at the Braurosl tent for the day.
As we recover on Monday, we have an organised tour to Neuschwanstein Castle which is a couple of hours from Munich.
On Tuesday we’re heading off on our own on the so called Romantic Road and heading to Rothenburg ob de Tauber for a couple of nights before moving on to Nuremburg for two nights. Finally, on Saturday, we travel back to Stuttgart before flying home on Sunday.
Looking forward to some German beer and Bratwurst.
I’ll probably post on here as we go for our memories as much as anything!
